Hidden in a gorgeous valley in Southwest Montana, The Ranch at Rock Creek perfectly blends rustic luxury with an authentic ranch experience.

The Atmosphere

One of the funnest things to do in Montana can be to look at a map, choose an inviting country road and go on an adventure. It’s down one such seldom traveled valley that you’ll find The Ranch at Rock Creek. Arriving here comes with a sense of discovery and this is one place you’ll want to keep secret.

Set in wide valley that is typical of this part of Montana you could drive past mistaking the collection of buildings as just another pretty working ranch. Rustic wooden buildings and an inconspicuous ranch gate belie the luxury that lies within. Guest’s cars are carefully hidden from view and within minutes of arriving you will have left the real world behind you.

The activity program at the Ranch is second to none and there is no end of things to do for beginners and pros alike. Enjoy a long ride with one of the ranch’s wranglers, take a fly rod down to Rock Creek, a blue ribbon trout stream, or head up into the hills to the ranch’s private shooting grounds. If you still have the energy, spend your evenings in the Silver Dollar Saloon, compete with shuffleboard (look it up), private cinema, and bowling alley.

Your Room

The different accommodation options are discreetly spread throughout the property and include rooms in the main Granite Lodge, private homes, and a series of luxury glamping options dotted along Rock Creek.

While each is unique there is a consistent attention to detail throughout that has stayed true to its ranch roots while imparting a distinct sense of style and luxuriousness. Carefully selected pieces of western art, aged books and antique furniture sit together perfectly without ever feeling contrived.

We love the glamping tents. They are all supremely comfortable, private and most have secluded seating areas that face out on to Rock Creek. Canvas is involved and they are rustic but that is where the association with camping ends. Expect wood burning fires, sumptuous beds, and private bathrooms with deep iron baths.

Need to Know

Everything during your stay at the ranch including activities, drinks and meals are inclusive. As you’d expect the food is exceptional, with Chef Josh Drage taking his inspiration from the cattle producing regions of the world.

The ranch is 1.40 hr from Missoula airport. You could drop in and out but, with so much to see, it would be shame not to spend time exploring the rest of Montana while you are here.
