Indulge yourself at this bona fide luxury resort nestled in the peaceful mountains of Ojai.

The Atmosphere

The tranquil and alternative mountain town of Ojai has plenty to offer but if you never left the grounds of the Ojai Valley Inn, we wouldn’t hold it against you. There are not many larger resorts that we recommend but this is one of them.

With understated and elegant hacienda style buildings sitting against a backdrop of oak and manzanita covered hills, it is easy to see why Hollywood’s rich and famous have been escaping to Ojai Valley Inn since the Thirties.

The property boasts a luxurious 31,000 square foot day spa, an eighteen hole Jay Morrish designed golf course, and a modern, multi-court tennis center. If that all sounds a little energetic, satisfy your creative urges with a painting class from the artist-in-residence.

Your Room

The 305 guest rooms and suites are modern and stylish while maintaining the spanish colonial touch. Many have private balconies or terraces that look out on to the fringes of the golf course, lined with old oak trees. Some of our favourites are the characterful Wallace Neff rooms, connected to the original clubhouse built in 1934 and with views looking down the magical Ojai Valley. For the heights of privacy and luxury, the two bedroom penthouse suites located above the spa are the ultimate indulgence.

Need to Know

In Ojai, you’ll be perfectly placed for some great day trips. The Pacific Ocean is twelve miles down the valley and a private yacht charter out to the stunning Channel Islands makes for a great day. At the right time of the year you’ll stand a good chance of seeing migrating whales. Inland, a journey on horseback, complete with a picnic, into the Sespe Wilderness is another great option.
