Tucked along the shoreline of a glacier-carved lake and accessed only by boat, Kenai Backcountry Lodge promises a picturesque wilderness setting rich with history, comfort, and hospitality amidst natural beauty.

The Atmosphere

Nine guest cabins ensure an intimate atmosphere and a light environmental footprint. All offer charming lodge-style furnishings and private decks, all within the serenity of an eco-friendly property located on the shores of a glacier-carved lagoon. The main lodge serves as a casual group area, as does the family-style dining room where freshly-prepared meals are provided along with fine wines, craft beers, and cocktails.

Your Room

A short walk from the main lodge brings you to your comfortable, cozy log cabin. Interiors feature a minimum of two beds, simple furnishings, a private en suite bathroom and shower, private porch, and propane-fueled light and heat. In keeping with the eco-friendly atmosphere, most cabins do not support electricity; inquire if you require an outlet. The main lodge does have outlets for recharging devices.

Food and Drink

Each morning, you’ll wake up to a hot breakfast buffet; look for delicious treats like blueberry pancakes, bacon, fresh coffee, and fruit. Evenings are for the four-course meals prepared by lodge chefs with locally-sourced ingredients in mind. You’ll want to save room for dessert as well!
